Civil War Barn

Sandgate, Vermont

This lovely barn was built during the Civil War era and features two full floors. An 1864 penny was found in a cupboard in the barn, and many Granville Sentinel and New York Tribune newspapers from the 1900s were discovered between a wall that separated the carriage from the horses. The Twin Towers attack occurred while we were finishing the project, so we filled one wall with a week’s worth of newspapers describing that terrible time in our history.
