Foster Powell is a songwriter and composer born in Anacortes, WA and raised in Boston. His tightly arranged, wryly observed pop songs combine Nilsson-esque singer/songwriter classicism with spirited investments in lyrical communication. Powell’s band is made up of Amayi Anders and Daniel O’Connor (and sometimes others); the three friends met as students at Bennington College in Vermont and bonded over a shared obsession with 60s-era songwriting as well as more recent “unpopular pop” troubadours like Aimee Mann and Elliott Smith. He currently lives in Vermont.

The venue for this event is a pre-1800's hand hewn timber frame barn. In 2020 the Ruben Waite Barn was moved from its original location in Galway, NY to the shop property of Green Mountain Timber Frames in Middletown Springs. The Green Mountain Timber Frames crew carefully dismantled the structure taking care to label each beam, brace, and board. After restoring and washing the frame, it was erected once again on a stone foundation to live on as a space dedicated to community, traditional crafting, and the learning of hand tool woodworking.
